S WAUGH builds guitar amplifiers in old-school fashion: one at a time.
Wiring is executed on epoxy turret board with an old Weller 25W iron and silver solder. We use Mercury Magnetics transformers, carbon comp and carbon film resistors, Sprague Atom filter caps and orange dots, Alpha pots, Switchcraft jacks and speakers by Celestion, Eminence and Weber. Cabinets are dove-tail jointed 7-ply birch or pine. We cut no corners at any stage of construction, building each amp as if it were our own. We understand that a solid amp is the foundation of all good guitar tone, regardless of guitar choice. We believe that a guitarist's tone, while originating in the hands, is anchored and enhanced by the amplifier, recreating the pinches, scratches, harmonics and all the subtlies of the player's style. We build our amps with this in mind, believing that you want an amplifier that plays to your style, that enhances what your hands create. A great guitar amp should be a seamless connection between you and your music. S Waugh builds great guitar amps, one at a time.
